Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP), a cooperative project between the governments of China and Singapore, initiated a new era of Sino-foreign economic cooperation. On Feb. 26, 1994, China’s Vice Premier Li Lanqing and Singapore’s Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew signed in Beijing the Agreement on Joint Development of Suzhou Industrial Park and on May 12 of the same year, the project formally broke ground.
Suzhou Industrial Park was designed to be China’s most modern industrial park, with office space created to attract high technology and other emerging high-growth companies. Now in operation for many years, SIP has become one of the most prestigious addresses in China, and a highly competitive development zone attracting significant support from companies worldwide.
